Dear Friends and Family,
As most of you know, two weeks ago, Laura went to the hospital for a routine hysterectomy. This surgery would remove several fibroid tumors that were contained within her uterus. During the surgery, the uterus was too large to pull though the incision so the Dr. had to cut though it (the uterus/tumors). On Friday, Sept. 20th ,2002, we were told that the fibroid tumors were Leiomyosarcoma cancer. This cancer is rare, it can be aggressive and typically has a poor prognosis (but this bad boy has not meet my Jesus). When the doctors cut through the tumors during the surgery, leiomyosarcoma cells may have fallen back into her body. At this point, only the uterus/tumors that they removed have been tested to contain the cancer.
On Wednesday, Oct. 2nd 2002 at 10am, Laura has an appointment at Stanford University Hospital with Dr. Nelson Teng, Chief of Gynecologic Oncology. He will administer a number of tests to determine what stage (if any) Laura is at (1-5) and advise us on treatment.
BOTTEM LINE PRAYER!
Our prayer is, • that Jesus will guide Dr. Teng in every test, • that all tests come back negative stage 0, • that Laura will have a peace that only Jesus can give her, • and that on Wednesday we can all rejoice of the almighty power of our JESUS!!! I want to thank you for your prayers and for being part of our family.
God bless you all, Ted S.Bobrow (& Laura & girls)
P.S. Please come by the house to visit, call, or e-mail us anytime (it really helps to see friends and talk).
