My mother was just diagnosed with uterine LMS 4 days ago. The Dr. told her it was epthelioloid (which means of the pelvic region)leiomyosarcoma. She is 55 years old but only looks like she's in her 40's. We really haven't gotten much info yet. Actually, I have gotten most of my knowledge on the subject from this site and Kent's site. She is going to have a full hysterectomy, and then go from there. Her first appt with the gynecological oncologist is in 2 days. We are 3 hours away from MD Andersen, so I will be encouraging her to go there. But what we have heard is that it takes "an act of congress" to get in there. We are just hoping, praying, and trying to stay strong. I may email you in a few days after we know what the treatment options are and have learned a little more.
