Hi , I am a biochem and molecular biology graduate and had LMS discovered in a fibroid when I had a hysterectomy last year due to heavy bleeding during my periods. luckly the tumor was well contained in the fibroid . I went through 6 cycles of aggresive chemotherapy about a year ago and now i'm back to my regular routine and have my cat scans regularly. I have also been trying to find out more about the disease without much luck. Since it is so rare not too much research has been done. Keep us posted if you get any more information on the disease. It would be great if we can get more people interested in researching the subject. I've heard that Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York has been running some protocols. I hope your mother gets the best care and advice on how to cope with and get the best treatment. shama
