My brother who is only 22years old was diagnosed with low grade leiomyosarcoma on his back. We are waiting to hear when he goes back in to remove excess tissue that surrounds the area in which the tumor was removed. He is on the emergency list but it has already been two weeks, is that normal to have to wait so long? They haven't staged the cancer yet, the doctor said they would wait until after his second surgery to do so. I am looking for some answers: I've heard that chemo and radiation don't work on this type of cancer, yet in reading the articles I have found that most have went through either on or both, should this be something we consider doing even after the doctor said it won't work? If anyone can give me some info it would be greatly appreciated, as this is new to us and aren't even sure of what questions to ask the doctors. Thank-you.
